MITCHELLS RUN, SEPTEMBER 2009 UPDATE

Stage 10B of Mitchells Run is now complete with title release occuring in late August 2009 and settlements in early September. Housing construction is expected to commence in the next few weeks.

There is now only 1 lot available in Stage 10B. Lot 1034 is 600m2 and has a frontage of 19m. It therefore represents a limited opportunity to secure more space for your family at a time when lots sizes are decreasing across metropolitan Melbourne.

Stage 11 of Mitchells Run is now also available to purchasers. This stage offers premium allotments overlooking a picturesque waterway and parkland corridor. The position of these lots is truly unique and will be further enhanced in the coming years with schools, supermarkets and other community facilities proposed nearby (less than 1.5km).

Eager purchasers have already snapped up many of the lots in Stage 11, but there is still a broad selection to choose from (431m2 – 775m2). Construction of Stage 11 is expected to commence in late 2009 and be completed in the first half of 2010.

If you have any queries about purchasing a lot at Mitchells Run, contact Lauders Real Estate on 9433 2100.

$25,000 DONATION TO DOREEN CFA

Mitchells Run recently donated $25,000 to the Doreen Brigade of the Country Fire Authority (CFA).

Last summer witnessed some of the most horrific bushfires in Australia's history. The generosity of Australians to donate some $375 Million to the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal during this time of unprecedented economic uncertainty was both inspiring and humbling.

Shortly after Black Saturday, the Directors of Mitchells Run met to discuss what our contribution could be. While donating to the Red Cross Appeal was considered, we felt that as part of a community with such proximity to the Kinglake area, it would be a more fitting to make a local donation. Therefore, we decided to direct our donation to the Doreen CFA.

Head of the Brigade, Captain Mark Roberts, noted "....by receiving these kinds of donations it means that we volunteer fire fighters don't have to then spend extra time running sausage sizzles, chook raffles etc...a donation like this represents 50 sausage sizzles and instead when can spend that time training and better protecting the community."

There is an incredible amount of work ahead for everyone involved with emergency services to ensure that they are appropriately prepared for the upcoming fire season. Mitchells Run commends all those who dedicate their time, whether employed or volunteers, to this effort. We hope that our donation will assist the CFA with their invaluable efforts to protect the residents of Doreen.

The Whittlesea Post recently ran an article about Mitchells Run's donation to the Doreen CFA. Click on the link below to download a copy of this article.

MITCHELLS RUN BONE MARROW CHARITY HOUSE

Mitchells Run is a proud supporter of the Bone Marrow Donor Institute (BMDI). Lot 233 in Stage 5 of the estate was allocated to BMDI for the construction of a charity house, with all proceeds benefiting cancer patients and their families. In total, the project raised approximately $170,000 for the BMDI, with Mitchells Run proudly contributing $30,000 in cash.

The BMDI house is located on the corner of Overland Drive & Painted Hills Road, Doreen (Melway Ref 391: E7)

The BMDI's major achievements include:

• Enabled more than 1,200 people to receive bone marrow transplants.

• Established the Australian Cord Blood Bank. To date, 38 children have received a second chance at life through this bank.

• Established the Rotary Bone Marrow Research Centre in collaboration with Rotary and the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

• Refurbished an apartment building in North Melbourne to provide affordable accommodation for the families of cancer patients receiving treatment at Melbourne’s major hospitals.
